Vietnam Airlines short domestic flight report

After a short stay in Quy Nhon, I took a flight to the capital Hanoi before traveling back to Ho Chi Minh City for a return flight to Melbourne. Quy Nhon is a great beach city located in the central of Vietnam. The city is known for tourism and beach activities such as surfing, swimming and other water sports. Back to the main topic of the blog, here is the detail of my flight between Quy Nhon (UIH) and Hanoi (HAN)

Vietnam Airlines only has one daily return flight between Hanoi and Quy Nhon. At that time, there was only one flight between two cities, which was quite inconvenient for some people. However, it was perfect for my plan because the departure time was 1:40pm so when I arrive at Hanoi and travel to my hotel, it would be around 5pm. I arrived early at the airport and checked-in at SkyPriority counter. The staff was friendly and it just took me 7 mins from check-in to pass the security, which was very fast.

I spent my time in exploring the airport and enjoyed a cup of tea at Highlands Coffee inside the terminal. And SURPRISE!!!!, I couldn’t get a free upgrade to Business Class but a seat upgrade from the back to the upper cabin at the gate, which was great. I still had a window seat but on the other side of the aircraft, Moreover, I had a entire row for myself, which was good. My seat was in front of the exit row but the seat could recline, which was amazing.

I used the priority boarding so it was quick and the crew was friendly at the gate to welcome passengers. The seat is normal like other aircraft, legroom was great. When I looked up the information online, the seat is the same on every aircraft even on the wide-body A350 and B787.

As it is an Airbus 321 NEO, Wireless IFE was available. There were some good movies and music, which can easily fulfil passengers’ need on a longer flight to Japan and South Korea, which were aso operated by the A321 family. 30 minutes after take-off, the crew came to give passengers some snacks and drinks. I asked for a cup of water, which came with a small bread, which tasted really good.

For the rest of the flight, I just looked at my phone to delete some photos and enjoy the view from my seat, which was beautiful and I couldn’t stop myself from blocking the window. I used the lavatory once and it was clean so I have nothing to comment on that. We had a smooth landing and of course, we arrived on-time. Here are some photos that I took from the flight.

That was my experience. Just a normal flight in the afternoon, which was great thanks to the view outside. Some people asked me why there are so much Vietnam Airlines review on my website. The answer is the route that fly only has one direct flight and it is Vietnam Airlines. In addition, they suit my schedule, most of their flight depart and arrive on-time with a little bit expensive than other carriers like Vietjet Air or Bamboo Airways but the gap was not too much.
